04:21 pm - Highlights from the trip… Amoura has been dubbed the “bed jumping champion of California.” This little girl has jumped on beds up and down the entire state of CA from San Diego to Crescent City, Half way thru Oregon, Half way thru Arizona, Half way down the Baja peninsula, and even half way out on the Pacific ocean (on a cruise ship) thru out her little life.
Swimming alone in the motel pool all 3 days with no other people to bug us.
Amoura’s 1st real roller coaster ride ever! And she thought we were going to fall out of the car! LOL
Getting super close to the Killer Whales.
Old Town being my new favorite place on earth.
Half price margarita!!! (I think I am just use to being over charged here in LA)
Alex and me talking of retiring to San Diego.
Sea World… I think I need to split season passes with another family so we can go again!
**** San Diego people – What ever happened to Marine World? yes, I am old, LOL, I use to go there as a kid!

04:06 pm - San Diego day 2 and 3 Day 2 – This was my favorite day!!! The babies and me woke up early and went downstairs to score on the free continental breakfast that came with the room. They had some cereal and juice and I had a banana nut muffin and coffee. We went back to the room, got Alex up, got ready and went early to Old Town San Diego State Historic Park, which is also where the Whaley Haunted house is. The Whaley house was our first stop, we were very lucky to get parking right in front of the place and since we got there about 10 minutes before it opened, we had time to roam the gardens and take pictures. We got our tickets and went in, we were the 1st guests of the day. The care taker (all dressed in old fashion clothes and top hat) gave us a brief history of the place and let us get about exploring ourselves. We did feel a presence of a little girl in one of the upstairs rooms and a bit of a sinister presence while going up the stairs. Very cool place that Whaley house. The Historic Park, which is quoted as the birthplace of California, was one block up the street so we went exploring in there too. Lots of old pueblo type buildings that are stores now and all the storeowners were dressed up Wild West style. We shopped and explored for about 2 1/2 hours then sat under a huge shade tree and had a picnic lunch.
By now it was super hot mid afternoon so I suggested we go back to the motel, relax, swim a bit, get freshened up to go out to dinner later and then to Sea World for the night time shows. So we did just that.
At the motel we could not stop talking about how cool Old Town was and the presence we felt at the Whaley house. I, of course, had to dork out a bit and make the ghostly “ooooooo” sound all afternoon long, much to Amoura dismay. LOL.
For Dinner we decided to go back to Old Town since we noticed so many nice restaurants we chose a Mexican restaurant on Congress St. called Rancho Corona. The food was sooooo good! And the margaritas were huge and strong! After dinner we headed to Sea World and casually strolled around half the park, which was almost empty after 6:30 (but open till 11pm! We got really close to the Dolphins and the Killer Whales. I got some really good pics of the whales… there were 4 in the pool! We caught a few shows and attractions and by 10:30pm we were tired and went back to the room.
Day 3… All day at Sea World… We packed up and checked out of the room by 11am and head to Sea World, where Amoura was tall enough (finely) to ride on her 1st real rollercoaster ever!!!! Since little Atom didn’t meet the height requirement Alex stayed with him and Amoura and I rode “the Journey to Atlantis” OMG it was so fun! I have not been on a roller coaster in years since these guys have been to little to go! And the line was no more the 20 minutes!!! I got soaked... not once, but twice! We saw everything the park had to offer. It was such a beautiful day in San Diego too, not to hot, not to cold, but pure sunshine, which burned the hell out of all our faces. By 4:30 or so everyone started to get cranky so I said lets wrap it up. We bought our souvenirs and caught one more show and hit the road back to LA by 6pm. Thanks to rush hour traffic in SD, the OC, and LA we were home by 8pm.
Like I said the other day, we had a fantastic time and we will be back. San Diego was just beautiful. Alex and I talked of possibly retiring down there. So nice. We will go again. I have never really given it much of a chance before, and I see know that I have missed out.

06:25 pm - San Diego Part one… (I don’t have the energy for it all in one shot) Monday… The 1st day of the trip went a little rough!
We left Monday around 11am to go the San Diego Wild Animal Park. This park is about 110 miles from our house so it took us about 2 hours to get there with traffic, we wanted to get there late, because they have night park and during the day the animals tend to be all sleepy do to the extreme heat. I can’t say I loved this park, although it was beautiful with its free roaming savanna, it was just everything there was an extra price and the $30 plus that we spend on admission didn’t really cover much. =/ Heh, it was cool, but I won’t go back there anytime soon, the zoo is better. Everything seemed up hill there. Anyway the place was not very crowded at all and we walked around and saw all the animals, it was nice. The nonsense started when we left. LOL Actually in retrospect, it doesn’t seem that bad, I was just tired from the sun, price gauging, and uphill walking. We took a wrong turn out of the park…now mind you, this park is up in the hills, and kind of far from the main freeway. So we are driving forever around all these ranches (that all seemed to be for sale) and looking at my map (which was wrong, thank you yahoo maps) and we were getting completely lost. I think we were headed to Arizona instead of San Diego at one point LOL. So the grouchiness ensued. We finally stopped for directions and got on the right path, but for the longest time we were stuck in a tract home hell, LOL. Anyway more wrong turns and u turns later we get to La Mesa (east SD) where we stayed near UCSD College. We stayed at the Ramada Inn and at 1st I was not trilled with the room, (I ended up liking it after all I was just snappy that 1st night). We decided to go swimming and we were the only ones at the pool, so that was cool. Later we just went to a casual dinner at Marie Calendars where I had to ask 3 times for silverware and Alex was trying to order everything that was NOT on the menu. *Shakes head* Alex is a fancy pants. I kept telling him just get something we are at freaking Marie Calendars not Windows 4 star restaurant, Christ man, I have spoiled that man. We get back to the room and my cell phone had 6 missed calls from my nanny who was house sitting my house. Scared, I checked the messages fearing the worst, only to find out that Alex blocked in the upstairs neighbors broken down car and he was having a fit over it. That really made me mad after the whole day so I kind of snapped. Thankfully I fell asleep after that and the rest of the trip got better… more later. Let me go put pure chapstick all over my very sunburned face… yes, all over my face, it feels good.
